WIZO USA Supported Community Centers

WIZO’s community centers are often the heart of community activity in many of Israel’s neighborhoods. Hundreds of programs enrich the lives of every member of the community. In addition to classes that strengthen the bond between parent and child, centers provide vocational training, art and music classes for underprivileged children, youth empowerment graining for girls, and senior citizen clubs.

WIZO Miami Beach Community Center, Ramat Gan: Sponsored by WIZO Florida

With 2,500 participants, the Miami Beach Community Center has been a forerunner of informal educational programming in the Ramat Gan area for over 25 years. Infants to seniors participate in the center’s activities on a weekly basis. The “Inbal” program, a Senior Citizens club, provides a variety of programs for senior citizens including sports, arts and crafts, lectures, and coffee mornings. During Rosh Hashanah and Passover the center facilitates the distribution of food parcels to members of the community in need. Intensive Bar/Bat Mitzvah programs are available for disadvantaged youth, who would otherwise not have the opportunity to experience a Bar/Bat Mitzvah celebration. The project creates a year long environment of learning and enrichment for Bar/Bat Mitzvah candidates and culminates in a group Bar/bat Mitzvah.

Air BaseHatzerim Joan & Mike Kahn Family Club AIR FORCE BASE: Sponsored by WIZO NY

This club provides the perfect setting for a wide range of formal and informal activities to families of air force pilots living on the base.
