Who we are

One of the world’s largest movements of women, building a stronger Israel from the ground up.

WIZO USA is part of an international movement — founded in 1920, WIZO has grown into a worldwide network devoted to the welfare of women, children, and families across Israeli society.

From a baby’s first months in a WIZO daycare, to a teenager finding stability in a WIZO youth village, to families rebuilt after crisis — our work reaches people at every stage of life, in every kind of community.

It is sustained by volunteers, supporters, and friends around the world who believe that Israel’s future is worth showing up for, day after day.

Pillar 01 · Early Childhood

During the most formative years of a child’s life, WIZO provides safe, nurturing environments where children receive enriching early education, nutritious meals, developmental screenings, and individualized support to help them grow, learn, and thrive.

But WIZO offers far more than daycare.

For children facing social, economic, or developmental challenges, these services provide a strong foundation and can change the course of their lives.

By making exceptional early childhood education accessible and affordable, WIZO also empowers parents to pursue careers, achieve financial stability, and build brighter futures for their families.

During times of crisis, WIZO’s commitment extends even further. Emergency daycare centers located in hospitals provide essential care for the children of doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals, allowing them to continue their lifesaving work when Israel needs them most.

From a child’s very first years to a family’s long-term future, WIZO is helping build stronger communities and a more resilient Israel.

At WIZO, we are committed to:
Giving every child the strongest possible start through exceptional early childhood education and individualized care.
Supporting families with affordable daycare, parenting resources, and expert guidance that help children and parents thrive together.
Strengthening Israeli society by enabling parents to participate in the workforce while ensuring every child receives the highest standard of care from their earliest years.
Reaching families in every community with accessible, affordable, high-quality early childhood programs across Israel.

Pillar 02 · Youth & Education

WIZO Youth Villages: Empowering Israel’s Next Generation

More than places of learning — a place to belong.

Youth Villages

WIZO’s five youth villages and two schools serve more than 5,900 children and teens every year across Israel. Nearly 1,500 students live on campus, many from challenging family circumstances, affected by trauma, or in need of a safe and supportive environment.

More than places of learning, WIZO’s campuses provide individualized education, therapeutic care, mentorship, and a strong sense of belonging. Every student receives the support they need to overcome obstacles, discover their strengths, and reach their full potential.

By investing in every child, WIZO empowers young people to build resilience, pursue their ambitions, and create brighter futures for themselves, their families, and Israel.

“Our counselors are always here for us. Whether it’s help, encouragement, or just a good conversation. They’re not just counselors or teachers—they’re like family.”

— Elian Tziglinski, student at WIZO Nir Ha’Emek Youth Village

At WIZO, we are committed to:
Closing educational gaps so every child has the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their circumstances.
Nurturing each student’s unique talents through academic, vocational, and leadership programs that prepare them for meaningful futures.
Developing confident, compassionate leaders who contribute to their communities with resilience, responsibility, and pride.

Specialized Programs

Students explore individualized interests through programs such as beekeeping, robotics, eco-farming, precision agriculture, technology, environmental sustainability, and other hands-on learning experiences that prepare them for successful futures while strengthening Israel’s next generation.

Pillar 03 · Women’s Empowerment

Women’s Empowerment: At the Heart of WIZO

For more than a century, WIZO has stood beside women through every stage of life.

Women’s Empowerment

Founded by women, for women, WIZO has been a champion for women’s leadership, financial independence, and personal growth since 1920. As Israeli society has evolved, so have WIZO’s programs—responding to the changing needs of women with practical support, professional resources, and compassionate care.
Whether helping a young mother return to work, providing career development and employment training, cultivating the next generation of women leaders, or supporting women’s safety and personal growth, WIZO is there when women need it most.

Because when women thrive, families thrive. And when families thrive, communities grow stronger.

At WIZO, we are committed to:
Empowering women with the tools, resources, and opportunities to build independent, fulfilling lives.
Cultivating women’s leadership through mentorship, training, and professional development programs.
Promoting financial independence through employment programs, career development, and economic education.
Supporting women’s safety and personal growth through counseling, community, and long-term support.

03

WIZO operates emergency shelters, prevention programs, family services, and education initiatives that help women and children escape abuse and build safer futures.

04

Safety Net

Long-term housing, emotional support, and practical resources help survivors rebuild stable, independent lives for themselves and their children.

Pillar 04 · Families & Responding to Today’s Needs

Families: Responding to Today’s Needs

WIZO continually adapts to meet the evolving needs of Israeli families.

Families & Responding to Today’s Needs

The challenges facing Israeli families are ongoing—reserve duty, displacement, and the lasting effects of trauma continue to shape daily life. To meet these ever-evolving needs, WIZO continually adapts, developing new programs with specialized support.

Through initiatives like Home Front Heroes, Dealing with Trauma & Resilience, and A Father Is Born, WIZO provides emotional support, practical resources, and resilience programs for women, men, teenagers, and children navigating today’s reality.

By bringing families together and creating networks of support, WIZO fosters resilience, connection, and hope for the road ahead.
